A former teacher of Physical Education, now teacher educator and academic, Kirsten has an impressive and global insight into primary Physical Education. Kirsten is currently the Associate Dean Academic for the Education division at the University of Waikato. Her research interests focuses on health and the physical education curriculum, pedagogies and practices in primary schools. Drawing on the shared expertise of practitioners and researchers she has been involved in a number of projects that have sought to reimagine Health Physical Education in ways that support teachers and children to have meaningful experiences, relevant to their diverse backgrounds, needs and interests. Kirsten has written extensively in the field of Primary Physical Education including being Co-Editor of the Routledge Handbook of Primary Physical Education.
